It’s been touch and go but you can still enjoy the best of Brixton during lockdown – and for real
The show opens on Monday 5 July in the Brixton Tate Library, Windrush Square
Works by 40 artists – professional and self-taught – have been selected from a record entry to make a unique showcase and celebration of local creative talent. Abstract and figurative, representational and political, and using a wide range of techniques and media, the art reflects the diversity that is Brixton. And democracy rules. You can take part in the people’s ballot to choose the winner.
The Tate Library is open Monday to Friday from 11 am to 6 pm and Saturday from 11 am to 5 pm. The show runs until Monday 19 July.
Please wear a mask and be aware that normal Covid precautions will be in place.
We all want to make it.
Make it in our chosen career. Maybe make it big.
Sometimes perhaps just make it to pay day.
But whatever our ambition, what unites us all is the desire to thrive, be recognised – and be supported.
And that’s what Lambeth’s Creative Enterprise Zone is all about. Supporting creative people to do amazing creative things without having to leave our amazingly creative corner of south London.
Because we all want to make it – of course – but more than that, we want to Make It in Brixton.
