In Partnership with The Ubele Initiative, 81 Acts of Exuberant Defiance’s Steering Group and Deliberative Assembly (The Exuberant Forum), are looking for an experienced Project Director. This position is funded by National Heritage Lottery Fund.
They are seeking someone who is dynamic, passionate, knowledgeable and experienced in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders. Someone who understands community-led processes, the nuance of working in the public realm and community empowerment. Our candidate should be a people person with strong leadership and communication skills. The role will require IT competence, alongside an understanding of deliberative assemblies and emergent processes.
This person will be supporting project producers with responsibility to deliver specific Acts within the programme, in particular “A Mile in My Shoes: Uprising” with Empathy Museum and “The People’s Inquiry” with Berkeley Thinks. They will also work closely with training partner Museumand: The National Caribbean Heritage Museum and other Heritage partners (London Met Archives, Lambeth Archives and Black Cultural Archives) to ensure the development of robust heritage skills across project stakeholders and high-quality legacy resources for future generations of Brixtonites.
We all want to make it.
Make it in our chosen career. Maybe make it big.
Sometimes perhaps just make it to pay day.
But whatever our ambition, what unites us all is the desire to thrive, be recognised – and be supported.
And that’s what Lambeth’s Creative Enterprise Zone is all about. Supporting creative people to do amazing creative things without having to leave our amazingly creative corner of south London.
Because we all want to make it – of course – but more than that, we want to Make It in Brixton.
